Anglers report slow fishing for largemouth bass and bluegill. Those who fished early and late during calm periods did better than those who challenged the mid-day heat and winds. Bluegill are getting more difficult to find, so try some of the deeper water, near the middle or west end. Pelican Lake has an overabundance of carp, so you can help the fishery by catching them or taking them with archery equipment. The youth waterfowl hunt starts on September 20.
