There’s a good bite for both trout and salmon. Guide Danny Layne is finding rainbows in the open water of Fleming Bay and Middle Bay 10- to 25-feet below the surface. Use rainbow Ex-Cels, red-headed Slimfins or U-V Humdingers. Trolling with Uncle Larry's Powerbait spinners also is productive.
Kokanee are showing off Jenkins Hill and Big Oak Island 30 feet below the surface. King salmon are in Mexican Gulch, Fleming Bay and off Copper Mountain and Hatch Creek at depths from 40- to 100-feet. Most salmon are falling to rolled shad or anchovies.
