FOR STEELHEAD:
Still not shining a light, so to say, to the '06 bonanza, however there has been a few caught.?? Every week, a report or two trickles in.?? With fewer fish, there's a premium on repetitive forays to the river ??? not a bad deal, really, after all.?? Just look out for the?Ķ
PINKS/SEA-RUNS:
Pinks are definitely building in numbers, and respond well to #6-#10 Pink patterns (buggers, comets, shrimp, marabous).?? If you get fly-bored, try orange ??? they'll give that color a "gnaw" as well as others.?? But, yes, pink seems to be the preference.
Look for Sea-Runs in brackish water and below pods of Pinks (they like eggs, too).?? Streamers, October Caddis and Glo Bugs (when salmon are around) are the usual go-to's.??
FOR TROUT:
The Upper Forks above the Falls will continue to fish well for scrappy little wild trout.?? Look for high levels of cooperation by the fish as they ramp-up consumption in preparation for Winter (yes, it's coming ??? just a little Fall between here and there).
TROUT PATTERNS (upper forks):?? Goddard's Caddis #12-#14; Better Foam Caddis, all colors #14; Royal Wulff #12-#14; Humpy/Royal Humpy, all #12-#14; Hi and Dri Parachutes, all #12-#14; Stimulators, all #12-#14; Foam Beetle #10-#12; Power Ants #12-#14

Puget Sound FIsh Report 09-04-07
Puget SoundBrown's Point has slowed down considerably for Pinks, while north-Sound beaches (Lincoln, Picnic, Kayak, etc.) have been a little spotty.?? Along the way, some nice sea-run cutthroat have been sampled, along with a few larger resident silvers (4-8 pounds), and a couple blackmouth, as well, so all is not lost.?? It's a good time to begin anticipating early squirts of mature, returning silvers along the beaches, though the next couple weeks should find the majority still congregated in the Strait.??......
