The ice conditions are very poor at East Canyon. We recommend staying off the ice. A large portion of the lake is covered with ice, but there are many pockets of open water. There are five to six feet of open water from the shore to the ice at most of the edges. There are big cracks in the ice where it's separating, and that's where many shore anglers have been fishing.
