TROUT SEASON IS OPEN . . .The first stock was on Halloween day, October 31, with 2400 pounds. The trout planted are ranging in the 1 to 3-pound class. Early morning trout limits were name of the game this weekend!!!! The best action so far has been off of Pier #3 and also Boat Dock Cove is doing very well off of the pier. Best baits have been green or yellow power baits with gold Kast masters working the best for lures. Start planning the November calendar for the 29th Annual Dixon Lake Trout Derby during the Veterans Day weekend. The lake will plant another 2400 lbs. before the derby with some nice trophy size rainbow trout. The derby is schedule for November 9-12.

Bass action was slow this week. Our local bass anglers reported catching some smaller bass in the 1 to 2-pound range on the small 3 to 4-inch plastics worms. The bass are feeding on the smaller size bait fish. The bass are working the bait schools hard in the early morning and evening hours along the shoreline. Most of the action has been in the Boat Dock cove areas and next to pier #1. The crowds have been light this week due to the fires.

The last catfish stock of the season was Friday, August 31. The bite has been better this week. Most cats are being caught on night crawlers. No big cats to report this week.
