Late summer-runs are few and far between, with silvers late to push in with force. Still, some fish have been caught, and there's sea-run cutthroat around in good numbers if so inclined. There are also dollies to anticipate. For a long-weekend trip, still not a bad place to head if only to just "get away" from Pugetropolis ??? truly a world removed. On the saltwater scene, the Westside of the Peninsula is beginning to receive some early chums, as is the Canal. Now is the time to get in on some big toothy beasts before the crowds descend in earnest (or you can manage to steal away on a weekday). Chartreuse "shrimpy" patterns are the ammo of choice for these omery late-fall salmon.
