During the week of April 4, fishing was very good for anglers who fished from the dam with bright yellow Power Eggs. Sheldon Pierce of Layton caught five trout in 20 minutes while suspending yellow Power Eggs on a single hook, about three feet from the bottom. Holmes has lighter angling pressure during the week and more pressure on weekends with nice weather. Water levels have risen. Much of the fishing bank on the east and west sides is now under water, just below the treeline. As the water continues to rise, it will submerge the vegetation and create excellent fishing conditions for the warmwater species along the shoreline. Don't forget to obtain your Walk-in Access authorization number and sign in at the box before visiting the reservoir.
