Striper fishing is picking up in the Hemenway area. Anglers have been catching fish weighing as much as 13 pounds with cut bait. In the Vegas Bay Arm anglers continue to reel in striped bass weighing in the one- to three-pound range. Still fishing with cut bait and jigging have both produced fish. Action is best in the early morning. Anglers have also been catching largemouth and smallmouth in the Boulder Basin. NDOW planted rainbow trout at B-5 Road and Hemenway on Tuesday. A supplemental plant is scheduled for tomorrow. Thereafter plants should occur every Friday.
