Water Conditions:
E. Walker up to 230 c.f.s. This is a perfect flow!!!!!
Fishing Conditions and Hatches:
The increase in flows has brought a lot of fish up into the miracle mile. A lot of riffle water has opened up and the fishing is good to great. Caddis are becoming the mainstay along with midges. The river is full of caddis larva and even with the cooler weather caddis are hatching and the fish are on them in the afternoon.
Recommended Flies:
-NYMPHS-
For midges stick with the venerable WD-40's is grey, black and Olive, Zebra Midges #18-#22. Still a sparse bwo hatch from 10'ish till 1pm most days; Poxy-Back Baetis, Surface Emergers and Barr's BWO emergers #20-#22. Caddis will be the mainstay from afternoon on; Gallatin Emergers, Sparkle Pupa, Z-Wing caddis, CDC emergers #14-#18
-DRY FLY'S-
Stimulator's in yellow, tan, orange #12-#14, Cutter's EC Caddis #16-#18, Elk Hairs #14-#16, Hoppers in Tan #12,
Guides Hint: When the "slack line" indicator fishing isn't working out well?Ķtake the indicator off and try some "tight lining" or popularly called Czech Nymphing now! Our guides are masters at this technique. Consider a guide trip to get you up to speed on its nuances and you will catch more trout!
