I heard that the Fall is a good place to be right now with fresh fish in the system and decent access towards the headwaters. Bugs are hatching and there are some decent trout swimming around looking for some food. The ODFW is still stocking fish but not publishing the schedule due to COVID. The hatchery is closed and after talking to the folks down there it may be closed for a while longer. But don’t let that stop you, the tubes and headwaters are all still great spots to fish and have been producing well the past few weeks. Hatches have been on and off with a total mix of caddis midges and mayflies, the mornings have been a little colder this last week which in-turn pushes bugs later into the day when the temperatures heat up. The fish are spreading out after they get stocked so make sure to cover some ground and get away from some of the main dump zones.
