Water Conditions: Excellent

Water is clear and warming up nicely. Most days water temps are getting to the mid 50's. The warming spring weather is instigating nice hatches and the fish are getting more active.
No snow at all on road to Hot Creek and the gate is open to the canyon section

Fishing Conditions and Hatches: Excellent

There are solid hatches of midges in the am, followed by BWO's mid-day and caddis by the afternoon. Some great dry fly opportunities can be had most days.
Big and buggy continues to be the ticket subsurface, i.e. Hare's Ear, Pt's, Copper Johns, Prince Nymphs in size 16, yes 16, on Hot Creek!
The deal is when they start to feed late morning they all feed at once, q.e.d. competition and the big and bright gets gobbled fastest.

#20-22 WD-40 in Olive or Black, #18-22 Zebra Midges, #18-20 Pheasant=2 0Tail, and #16-18 Scuds in Olive or Grey. Add #18 Copper John's to the list.

-DRIES-
