Things are changing!
Water temps have fallen below 65 degrees, and the dissolved oxygen is over 5ppm lake-wide. In fact, the coolest temps and highest oxygen levels are actually on the east end of the lake. That means the trout are starting to make their annual migration away from the dam. That’s not to say the dam isn’t still producing, but fish are being caught as far east as Juniper Point. fishing inflated night crawlers or PowerBait on a 2 to 4 foot leader off the bottom is working well from the shore. Slip bobbers set in the 5 to 10 foot range with those same baits are still a great choice for boaters. Trolling night crawlers, spoons, or plugs at the same depths is also a great way to get your limit.
Oh, and did I mention some of these fish are HUGE!?
