Hosmer Lake has had consistent fishing. Signs of the incoming winter are everywhere in the high elevations. Fish are beginning to slow down now that the weather has turned. It looks like this week will be cold and wet up there. There may be a few callibaetis hatches around midday, otherwise, surface action is unlikely. Indicator rigs have been the best choice. Midges and chironomids are fishing well, mostly darker colored patterns that are size 16 - 22. Dark assassins and callibaetis are worth a try as well. Balanced leeches are a really great choice, the fish want big meals before the cold hits. Stripping leeches is also a decent way to go. Early season snow is coming, this could be the last week to access Hosmer Lake.
Suggested Dries: Thorax Callibaetis #14-18, Almost Dun Callibaetis #14-16, D&D Cripple #14-16, High-Vis Callibaetis #14-16, Rusty Spinner #16-18, Peacock Chubby Chernobyl #16
