Fishing is slow on the Miami right now. The fall Chinook run is winding down with most of the fish on the spawning grounds, and winter steelhead won’t show up in any real numbers until at least the middle of December.
The catch-and-release fishery for chum on the Miami ended on Nov. 15. The basin is still open for Chinook salmon, but anglers should take care to avoid targeting chum.
