Welcome to Lake Murray in La Mesa, CA. It’s cold out so dress accordingly. The bass bite has definitely slowed down but there has been reports of action near the tulles. Try drop shot and senko combo. Trout fishing has been above average of late especially with the recent plant. Powerbait orange color has been reported to be working salmon eggs and live worm working well. Catfish have been showing up with shrimp and mackerel working best. Bluegill are biting crickets.

The water is a bit murky and the temp is 65 degrees. The bass are practically a no show with a few small ones bright caught on the drop shot rig in 20 feet plus. Some catfish are being caught late in the afternoon with mackerel and shrimp. Two fisherman reported seeing school fo trout in San Carlos Bay. The bass have gone deep, the bluegill have disappeared. The catfish are showing up in the backs of the coves. Two fisherman reported catching 4 catfish, the biggest weight 6 pounds, the other 3 were all about 2-2.5 lbs. Jimmy McBride 10 years old caught a 5 pound catfish off the fishing pier using shrimp.
