Shasta Lake is up 36' feet and water conditions are perfect for winter trout! Some areas of the lake have some debris issues, but thats something we deal with every winter season. We're not seeing much of a morning bite, but thats normal for this time of the year too. The most important conditions we look for are water clarity and water temps. Visibility is about 2' feet and water temps are 48-50 degrees depending on where you are fishing. We have good weather forecasted for the next week so fishing should be good as well!
Jeff Goodwin is a full time Northern California fishing guide. He guides year round for salmon, trout, steelhead, Kokanee, and bass on Northern California rivers and lakes. He fishes many bodies of water in the Redding area, but also guides the Sacramento River and Feather River during certain times of the year. Jeff can also be found on the California coast chasing ocean fresh King salmon and steelhead each year.
