I saw some reports from people on facebook that the Quinn River Ramp is now open and accessible, and we confirmed this with the Forest Service. The resort ramp is also open and should have the docks in by now. There was also some talk that ODFW was trying to have the campgrounds opened up by this weekend, but the folks with the Forest Service could not confirm this. South Century drive is going to be the best route out that way as the CLH above Bachelor remains closed. Fishing balanced leeches and/or chironomids/midges under an indicator will be the most effective early season tactic. Fish will be spread out around the reservoir and not yet concentrated in the channels so covering some water will work to your advantage. Stripping leeches can be an effective method as well. Early season is a fun time to be on Crane and beat some of the summertime crowds so get out there and find some cranebows.
