Castaic remained near 55 percent of capacity, and water temperatures have been in the mid-sixties. Large and smallmouth bit consistently for anglers using drop shot, Carolina rigged plastics, and Senkos. Ned rigs, shaky heads, and small swimbaits worked well too. The bass have been holding in 5 to 20 feet of water, and some anglers reported excellent springtime bass fishing. Striper ate cut baits, nightcrawlers, and lugworms in 25 to 75 feet of water in the Ski arm. They also went for trolled flies, Kastmasters, and jerkbaits. Catfish anglers used dip bait, chicken liver, and cut sardines to land good numbers of whiskerfish.
