AZGFD conducts annual flathead catfish survey at Bartlett Lake and Lake Pleasant

The Arizona Game and Fish Department conducted its annual one-day flathead catfisfh electrofishing survey at Bartlett Lake and Lake Pleasant the week of Sept. 12. 

 

At Bartlett, AZGFD staff caught 81 flathead catfish ranging from 5.27 to 47.36 inches, with the largest weighing just over 50 pounds. 

 

At Pleasant, department staff caught 110 flathead catfish ranging from 3.15 inches to 39.3 inches, with the largest weighing just over 30 pounds. The total weight of all the catfish caught was 319 pounds at Bartlett and 471 pounds at Pleasant. 

The department will continue to monitor the flathead catfish population in both lakes on an annual basis.
