Anglers continue to report trout taking garlic scented dough baits, Pinched Crawlers, and lures. The bite has slowed a bit, but there are plenty of rainbows and lightening trout still willing to take the bait. Crappie have been good, and anglers fooled them with orange, black, and chartreuse shad sliders, minijigs, and small live minnows. Crappie nibbles really seemed to increase hookups. Finding the right depth has been helpful for anglers to get consistent bites. Catfish fell for dip bait, garlic scented nightcrawlers, and chicken liver. Bass anglers are anxious for the spring bite which could kick off at any time. Lately largemouth have been going for Green Pumpkin, Morning Dawn, and black Senkos tossed right up into the reeds. Creature baits have been getting bites as well.
