The Metolius has been fishing well. BWO’s have been hatching consistently making for some fun dry fly opportunities. Nymphing will remain the best producer however and golden stones, eggs, perdigons, two-bits, and nitro caddis have been some recent favorites. Swinging a sculpin streamer around is a fun way to try and target some larger more aggressive rainbows or maybe even a bull. Dolly Llamas and similar large streamers are a good idea when targeting bulls. Don’t forget that the waters above Allingham bridge remain closed until May 22.
