The Lower Deschutes has been fishing well. Caddis have been around in abundance in the evenings and fish have been taking nymphs well during non hatch times. Your dry box should consist of a nice variety of caddis, PMDs, and BWOs. Focus should be on nymphing if there aren’t good numbers of fish rising and jigged leeches, eggs, two-bits, rainbow warriors, and micro mays have all been effective. Swinging around a sculpin, crayfish, or leech is always fun on the lower deschutes as well. Utilizing tungsten bead nymphs or a split shot or two is a good way to make sure you're getting nice deep drifts.
