We're still experiencing a fantastic striper bite below the Davis Dam on Lake Mohave. The fishing has been a bit slow lately, but some anglers have had success trolling with hard baits. Our local angler, Charles Viajar, recently caught a sizable striper with a noticeable big belly. He was fishing from his kayak using a swim bait below the Riverside bridge. This striper weighed in at 21.26 pounds and measured 37.5 inches. The last fish of this size was around 16 pounds and on the thin side.
The lake is yielding a few stripers, and there have been reports of some anglers spotting boils. Below the dam, the striper bite has been on the smaller side, although occasionally, larger fish will take the bait. We have a fish tournament coming up on Lake Mohave, but it's mainly focused on large and smallmouth bass. Lake Mohave boasts a healthy population of these fish, making it an excellent target for our local and visiting anglers. These fish offer great sport, and we look forward to hearing your fishing stories.
