One thousand pounds of catfish was stocked the week of September 25th. Our lasting stocking will be next week where we will put another 1,000 pounds into the lake. Night fishing will continue through the month of October. Don’t forget your lantern!

What’s the Catch? Lots of catfish during night fishing the past couple of weekends. The 53 pound cat featured below was caught on Saturday, September 30th off of the t-dock on mackerel. Hermit Cove was a good spot for cats, as well as Siesta and Shadow Coves. Mackerel is tried and true, but cheese and garlic varieties of baits were also successful. More sunfish caught in Half Moon Cove and the t-dock this weekend. Wax and red worms were reeling them in. The bass bite has slowed, but there were a few reports of catch and release bass from shore. Trout season is just around the corner! Stay tuned for more information about Trout Opener.

Conditions: The water temperature is just below 78 degrees. New Moon is this Saturday! Be aware of shallow structure if you’re in a boat especially around the points. The sun is rising at 6:48 a.m. and setting at 6:21 p.m.
