Water Conditions
The upcoming week's weather along the Truckee River is expected to be cooler but stable, with temperatures in the high 80s. The current water temperatures range from 63 to 65 degrees. These cooler conditions should make for good fishing throughout the week. Here are the current flows on the Truckee River: 220 CFS out of Tahoe City, 310 CFS through Truckee, 400 CFS near Glenshire, and 600 CFS near Farad.
Tips for the Week
Throughout the week, the Truckee River can be fished using a variety of techniques such as dry droppers, indicators, euro nymphing, and streamers, which are all working well at the moment. Anglers should target the faster riffles where there is more oxygen. The fish are mostly concentrated behind the rocks and other structures. The best time for dry fly fishing on the Truckee River is the last hour of the day.
Suggested Flies or Lures
Some fly favorites to try this week on the Truckee River are Pheasant Tails, Green Drakes, March Browns, Caddis, Small Stones, and Blue Winged Olives.
