Stocking: Lake Jennings was freshly stocked with 1,000 pounds of catfish this week! Another 1,000 pounds of catfish will be added the week of September 23rd. The last stocking for this season will take place in October, meaning you can enjoy night fishing every Friday and Saturday night until then!

What’s the Catch? Half Moon Cove continues to be the hot spot for all varieties of fish. Panfish were biting around the t-dock and there were reports of schools of sunfish in Half Moon Cove. Wax and meal worms are good baits for panfish, but we’ve had reports that everything is biting on red worms, including the catfish. As the water and air temps start to cool, you can expect the panfish to move into shallow coves with bass not far behind them. Half Moon Cove and Big Rock were the most active spots for bass last weekend. Senkos and Brush Hog are your best bet. Catfish were caught off of Eagle Point and Shadow Cove. They were biting on blood flavored dip bait and chicken livers. The cats were most active after sunset.

Conditions: The current water temperature at the surface is around 80 degrees. The sun is rising at 6:30 a.m. and setting at 6:58 p.m. The next New Moon is October 2nd. The district has completed the lake fill. The t-dock will remain closed until the fill is complete and it can be assessed for safety.
