Stocking: Lake Jennings was freshly stocked with 1,000 pounds of catfish last week! Another 1,000 pounds of catfish will be added the week of September 23rd. The stocking next week will be the second to last stocking of the season!

What’s the Catch?  Bluegill are foraging in the shallows especially now that the lake is full. Fishermen were reeling them in near weeds and structure. We heard everything from bits of red worms and nightcrawlers to wax worms getting bites. No reports of bass last weekend. As the temperatures continues to drop, expect the bass to move into shallower water following the Bluegill. In the fall, the bass will actively feed in preparation for winter. With the stocking came lots of catfish activity! Bites were reported all over but the most prolific locations last weekend were in Cloister Cove and near the old boat dock. Mackerel was the bait of choice.

Conditions: The current water temperature at the surface is around 79 degrees. The sun is rising at 6:30 a.m. and setting at 6:58 p.m. The next New Moon is October 2nd. The district has completed the lake fill and the t-dock is open.
