Stocking: Lake Jennings was freshly stocked with 1,000 pounds of catfish last week! Another 1,000 pounds of catfish will be added the week of October 14th, which will be the last stocking of the season! In total 8,500 pounds of catfish were stocked this season.

What’s the Catch? Bass were biting on shiners last weekend. Dockhands saw bass on boats mostly reeled in just off of the t-dock and the entrance to Half Moon Cove near the tulles. Catfish were being reeled in by boat and from shore. Boats in Shadow and Sentry Coves came in with catfish. The south eastern shoreline near the Hermit Cove buoy line was another active location for catfish. They were biting on the usual baits mackerel, shrimp, and nightcrawlers. Cloister Cove and the t-dock were good places for the panfish bite last weekend. The rangers recommend using meal worms, but pinching off a piece of nightcrawler can also work.

Conditions: The current water temperature at the surface is around 77 degrees. The sun is rising at 6:39 a.m. and setting at 6:38 p.m. New Moon was October 2nd. The district has completed the lake fill and the t-dock is open.
