The Crooked is fishing great in the mornings, thanks to the whitefish spawn. Egg patterns are working wonders, but midges and caddis are also drawing strikes. For nymphing, you can’t go wrong with Zebra Midges, pink scuds, or Ray Charles patterns. If you’re into dry fly action, keep a box of midges and BWOs handy—there’s still some fun to be had on top.
