Water Conditions: Great the flows are at 33 cfs as of 5/31. Water is clear and fairly low when compared to this time last year.
Fishing Conditions and Hatches: Good to Excellent. Good action on Caddis drys and emergers when it's not windy. Some Midges early and late, but the fish are keyed in mostly on Caddis. Takes have been very subtle, so try and use the smallest and most sensative indicator you can use and try to shorten your drifts. Yarn is usually best when the water is this clear and slow.
Recommended Flies:
DRIES: Parachute Caddis Grey #18, Brook's Hot Creek Caddis #18-20, Elk Hair Caddis Tan #18, Mercer's Missing Link # 18, Stalcup Emerger Parachute Midge #22, Old School Caddis Emerger Olive #18-20, CDC Emerging Midge 22-24, Chernobyl Ant, Yellow Humpy #20
NYMPHS: Nori's Caddis Pupa Geen #18, Anderson's Bird of Prey Tan #20, Fox's Caddis Poopah Green #18, Copper Zebra Midge #20-22, Black Flashy WD-40 #22, #22 Furimsky's Epoxy Midge, Z-Caddis Green #18, Poxyback Baetis #18-20, Drifting Little Weedy #18
STREAMERS: #12 Bead Head Doc's Twin Lake Special Black
Guides Hint: Drag free drifts are essential to catching fish now.
