Water Conditions: The lake is still fairly high but continuing to drop. Down about 9 ft from peak. Water temps about perfect 56-57 F and weed growth subsurface continues to increase everywhere. Algae is on the increase and hasn't effected fishing much yet but it is nasty enough if it blows your way.
Fishing Conditions and Hatches: Okay, excellent water temps, and weeds everywhere have made for the fish not being concentrated anywhere. They have started to show up in McGee and Little Hilton and I expect a big migration with a few more degress in water temp.
Fish are spread out all along Green Banks and out in the center and along the old channel in the north arm. You've got to "shop" and keep moving to get anything going. Stripping is getting better as fish are suspended with a little Daphnia going.
Recommended Flies:
Dries: Not enough Calibaetis to bother.
Nymphs: Dubbed head Black Optimidges with green flashback #16, , Copper Tiger Small, Blood worms , bright red or Albino Baron early then darker (Red Baron) later when sun is overhead. Try Ultimate Damsel up top. Streamers: Get some flash and red in there to be seen in a green world.
