Water Conditions:
Water temp: 52-56F on the bottom. Water is still very clear.

WARNING
The lake is much lower than previous years. Watch out for Pelican Point which sticks out way into the lake.

If you leave the marina and head straight for McGee Bay, you will run aground!

Look for white buoys and pass to the east.

Fishing Conditions and Hatches:
Excellent, great hatches continue. Pelican point, North Landing Bay and off Alligator Point are all on one day and just okay the next but Sandy is pretty much excellent all along the east side of the underwater bank that extends way out.

Those fishing 12-14 ft down off the side of the bank are killing it as the fish patrol up and back. Almost as many Browns and Cutthraots as Rainbows with a big, fat Perch thrown in a couple of times a day. Next grab could be any species and an size from 12" to 24".

Super clear water still and your flies need to match the real thing - olive, gray/black and black after 10 am. A little red in there earlier in the deeper water.

Bite starts early on these warm days.

Recommended Flies:
Kent's: #16-18 Olive, Black or Gray/Black Dubbed Head Optimidge midday. Red/Black or flashback version early.

Mickey's: Albino Baron early, Shaft Emerger midday.

Guides Hint: Hang three midges 18"-24" apart with brighter and flashy for the top two as attractors and your realistic, go-to model on the bottom position. Lots of real targets . . . Sensai says "He who gets seen, gets eaten!"
