The wind kicked up Tuesday and doesn’t look like it will lay down until Saturday. Prior to that the bite slowed near Eureka but picked up near Trinidad. Most of the salmon being caught here are legal jacks. Bigger fish have gone north or into deep water. Biggest halibut of the season came in last week - an 81 pounder caught by Richard Barber of Blue Lake. He was fishing off the South Cape in 90 feet of water with a shrimp fly.  (707) 444-9266 Gary Blasi of Full throttle sportfishing.
