The Contra Costa Water District is lowering the Contra Loma reservoir seven feet, beginning in March, in order for work crews to re-surface the swim lagoon as part of regular maintenance. As a result of the lower water level, we've temporarily closed the fishing dock near the West Shore Trail. We anticipate the re-surfacing project will be complete by the opening of swim season, April 25.
Fishing has been okay. It has slowed down some with the lowering of the lake.
