Water Conditions: Fantastic
Water and air temps have come up slowly over the last week. This will only help the great fishing at the Lakes Basin right now. Surprisingly the crowds are still quite low for this time of year. Word will get out soon, so get up here in a hurry.
Fishing Conditions and Hatches: Great
Fishing has been great in Mary and Mamie. Midges and a few Callibaetis are hatching in the evening. Look for some dry action in the late evening and early morning sometimes. The best evening hatches have been at George or the Twins. Both stillwater nymphing and streamers will bring you a ton of fish to the tube. Pulling streamers is producing the biggest fish.
Recommended Flies:
-Streamers-
#8-10 Ext. Body Leech, #10 Hornburg, Matukas, #12 Doc Twin Lake Special, #8 Pops Buggers with a #14 Hare's Ear, #14 Prince Nymph or #14-16 Pheasant Tail Dropper
-Nymphs-
#16-#20 Tiger Midge, #14-#20 Frostbite black
#14-#20 Williams Lake Wonder black or red, #12-#16 Trigger Callibaetis, #12-#16 Hare's Ear , #14-12 No Name Damsel, #14-#16 Prince Nymphs
-Dries-
#14-16 Stimis, #12-20 Parachute Adams, #18-14 Ants and #14 Loop Wing Callibaetis.
Guides Hint: There are over 6 lakes within 5 minutes of each other in the basin . If one doesn't produce within 30-60minutes of fishing, try another lake or spot, because there are so many great places to fish nearby .
