The multi-day and day stretch on the Lower D has been pretty light for trout with a big dry-dropper setup. With the October Caddis in and around the river, we are attaching a golden chubby Chernobyl up top with a long 3-foot dropper to a tungsten jigged dropper. The dropper can be a variation of all your classic nymphs, or anything with CDC, as long as you are fishing it jigged and tungsten at the correct depth, if you aren’t getting it down deep enough the dropper isn’t as effective.
