The Twin Lakes continue to provide good opportunities for some nice rainbows. Action is the most consistent subsurface and the fish are starting to feel more comfortable out of the depths. Your best bets for surface action are with size 16 -18 callibaetis. Terrestrials receive inconsistent attention; however, they can be deadly with a callibaetis nymph dropper, especially close to the banks. Dark assassins, chironomids, damsels, and balanced leeches are the other good subsurface flies to use. Damsels will likely become less productive once we receive consistent fall conditions, for the time being, they are good in shallow places. Fish will be looking for calories before the cold weather comes in, leeches and streamers are what they will be looking for. Don’t hesitate to hit the Twin Lakes, winter weather will be here in no time.

Suggested Flies: Bird’s Nest Hare’s Ear #14-18, Dark Assassin #14-18, Bird’s Nest Or Black Depth Charge #14-18, Red or Black Zebra Midge #16-18, Black or Red Chironocone #14-18, Poxyback Callibaetis #16-18, Feather Duster Callibaetis #16-18, Flashback PT #14-18, Red or Black Yankee Buzzer #14,  Bruised Balanced Leech #10-14, Ruby Leech #10-12, Black Wooly Bugger #10-12, Olive Wooly Bugger #10-12, Black or Rust Slump Buster #10-12, Thin Mint #10-12, Olive or Black BH Mini Leech #12, Balanced Damsel #14, Dainty Damsel #14, Scotts Damsel #14
