Fall River has been consistent. The river should be getting stocked any day now which will make things a bit easier. The fish in there currently have seen lots of flies and can be hard to fool, don’t be afraid to mix things up a bit. The main hatches are pale morning duns and caddis, there may be a few blue wing olives showing up with cloud cover. Hoppers and other terrestrials are great surface flies as well. Nymphing has been decent with small mayfly nymphs and midges. Jigged euro style nymphs are also excellent out there. As mentioned before, don’t be afraid to mix things up out there. I was just chatting with one of our guides and he’s been having some luck with mop flies and small olive balanced leeches. Sometimes a trout's curiosity is it’s biggest weakness. The crowds should be subsiding on the Fall River, now is a great time to head out there and find some pods of fish to cast to.
