The Fall River has been fishing well. The cold temperatures we are going to experience this weekend might put down the hatches a bit, but we have been seeing midges, BWO’s, PMD’s and some caddis. Nymphing remains the most effective technique in terms of numbers. Small CJ’s, two bits, midge nymphs, rainbow warriors and small jig style nymphs work well. If you are having trouble getting your flies down, try adding something a bit larger and possibly tungsten as your top fly to help sink the nymphs. Streamers are always an exciting way to try and get a few fish on the Fall if they aren’t keyed on the small bugs. The Fall is set to receive 1000 “Trophy” sized trout between May 9-13 and these new fish will be hungry so get out there and get after them!
Suggested Dries: March Brown #12-14, Purple Haze #16-20, Sparkle Dun BWO #16-20, Hackle Stacker BWO #16-20, Olive Haze #16-18, Tilt Wing BWO #16-18, Parachute Adams #16-20
