The Upper Deschutes has been fishing well. Nymphing has been hot and jigged leeches, psycho princes, golden stones, nitro-caddis, and two-bits have been some recent favorites. Dry-dropper setups with a small terrestrial are also very fun and effective on the upper. We have heard better reports recently coming from lower down in the system rather than up high. Streamers are fun around some of the downed timber, deeper pools, and undercut banks. Mosquitoes have been quite bad out that way especially later in the day so bug spray is a must.
