More river updates on our striper bite along the shores of the Colorado River below the Davis Dam. At this time of year, it's all about shore fishing due to the low water releases from the dam. Nevertheless, our anglers are experiencing great success with their favorite lures. One notable catch was by local angler Ray Macillan, who landed a substantial 14.26-pound striper while lure fishing in the Community Park area. The catch measured 31 and 1/2 inches, an impressive weight for its length. Upon examination, it was evident that the fish had been feeding on other species in the area. Typically, a fish of this length would weigh around 9 pounds, making Ray's catch remarkable.
Similar success stories are emerging from other anglers in the Rotary Park area. While there isn't much news from Lake Mohave yet, the milder weather and calm winds suggest changes are on the horizon. I'll make an effort to gather updates on the lake soon.
We hope this information is helpful for now, and we look forward to welcoming you to share your catch and stories. Thank you immensely for your ongoing support. Now, go catch a fish!
