The Fall River is fishing exceptionally well this week, despite the smoke. Nymphing is your best bet—try using two-bits, pheasant tails, eggs, micro may flies, and psycho princes for great results. If you need some extra weight, try the Baby Got Bead Perdigon to get down fast. For a bit of excitement, Terrestrials could be your ticket too! Don’t miss out on that top water action and give some hoppers and beetles a chance. consider a dry-dropper setup: use a medium-sized foam fly on top with a nymph or two beneath. As for dry fly PMD’s, and BWO’s will be the two main hatches you’ll see out there. Don’t forget to strip streamers around the downed timber, which can be an effective way to attract fish. Soccer Moms and micro tungsten leeches are back in high supply here and great patterns to use out there
