Fishing on the Lower Deschutes remains strong, particularly from Warm Springs to Trout Creek. Both nymphing and swinging flies are producing good results. Stonefly nymphs, eggs, and caddis pupae are all drawing interest from fish. For steelhead anglers, focus on swinging flies with Skagit lines and sink tips to get your fly deep into the strike zone. Popular steelhead patterns like Intruders and Green Butt Skunks, especially in darker colors with hints of blue and purple, are a great choice for this time of year.
