The Metolius continues to fish well, especially for nymph anglers. Firestarter perdigons, Berry’s PCP, and tungsten bead Hare’s Ear nymphs have been the go-to patterns for many. Bull trout fishing with streamers has been a bit hit or miss, but white Sculpzillas and Dungeons can still get the job done. Dead drifting a streamer or experimenting with different retrieves might be the key to enticing a big bull trout. If you're lucky enough to catch some dry fly action, look out for Blue Wing Olives in sizes #18-20. Sparkle Duns are a must-have for imitating these high-riding mayflies, so make sure your box is stocked.
