Looks like the flows have settled in at around 350 cfs for now, which is a little high, but should still be fishable. The Mother’s Day Caddis hatch (#16 Elk Hair or X Caddis) has begun but looks to slow down a bit now with some cold and nasty weather moving in this week. This should bode well for strong mayfly hatches though with BWOs in the mid-morning and PMDs in the afternoon. The Hackle Stacker and Parachute BWO patterns in a size #18 are good bets for the Blue-Winged Olives and similar but slightly bigger and lighter patterns for the PMD hatch should do the trick. These flows should also open up some more wet fly and nymphing opportunities. Emerging mayfly patterns and midges are consistent flies sub-surface with flies like the 2bit Hooker, Peacock Perdigon, Zebra Midge, Bead-Wing Midge, and AP Nymph fooling fish.
