The Metolius has been fishing well. Dry fly opportunities include golden stones, caddis, BWOs and PMDs. We should start to see more and more numbers of golden stones and a nymph should definitely be utilized when fish are not rising. A double nymph rig with a golden stone and a small caddis or mayfly nymph is a deadly combo. Dry-dropper setups with a golden stone up top and a nymph two below are also very effective and a fun way to approach the river this time of year. As always large streamers are a good way to try and fool a bull or two.
