The Crooked River continues to provide great fishing. We’ve been seeing some excellent pale morning dun hatches. They are typically around size 16 - 20, expect the bigger ones on cooler cloudy days. Caddis are still around and the fish will look for them when the PMD hatch isn’t prevalent. Terrestrials can receive some attention, I wouldn’t fish them without a dropper nymph. PMD nymphs, baetis nymphs, two-bit hookers, and caddis pupa are the go-to nymphs. Midges are also worth a try. Don’t forget about soft hackles, either on a swing or under your indicator, they do a great job of imitating an emerging caddis or mayfly. With many days this week forecasted to be in the 70s, I would expect some excellent hatches and lots of hungry fish.
